TOODLES FOR TOODLES! WILD BIRDS UNLIMITED WEBSITE HELPS SAVE A LITTLE ABANDONED BABY BIRD! I wanted to give a shout out to this specialty bird shop; I have yet to enter their store, but I did use their website as a critical resource when I was in an unusual predicament of attempting to rescue an abandoned baby bird--possibly a finch--that had dropped to the ground in the 100-degree heat and beating sun of the day... right in front of my parents' front door! As soon as I noticed this helpless, tiny bird, with no parent bird in sight, I began to calmly panic on what to do with this stork-baby-drop-on-a-porch situation--I ended up madly googling for information on how to help save this poor little bird, who was partially bald and awkwardly cute... and confused and shaking and hungry and painfully vulnerable. Besides gathering intel on how to help this fragile bird with meal worms and water (perhaps the meal worms were a bit much, as this bird was so premature), I ended up finding a resource page on Wild Birds Unlimited that listed licensed experts in avian and wildlife rehabilitation. Great products with great online ordering and quick instore pickup. Super friendly staff at the Riverside location. I ordered the bird bath, bird house, and hooks.

We have been going to this lovely shop on Magnolia Ave. in Riverside for many years. We buy birdseed mainly, but the shop features a wide variety of items, including various types of feeders, bird baths, jewelry, yard art, a great selection of field guides, nature books, optics, nature cams, and books/activities for children. They also carry the Audubon plushy birds that sing and I’m not gonna lie, I absolutely love these things and so do my grandkids. Pro tip - young boys seem to be drawn to the red-winged blackbirds. We just bought a Brome feeder to prevent a squirrel from chowing down on all our seed and worms. These are the best feeders I know of. They have several ports with perches but when a squirrel jumps on it the inner tube releases downwards closing the ports so the squirrel is stymied. We’re too old to get up on ladders so a taller pole wasn’t really an option. The staff are fantastic. Theresa is very knowledgeable on bird ID and all things birding as well as local events of interest to birders. Her enthusiasm for birding is inspiring. Kelly also helped us with kindness and patience. Highly recommend this wonderful local store!

This is such a delightful store! It has everything you need to decorate your backyard for feeding birds & critters. Such pretty feeders that I had to get multiples. There are many beautiful & whimsical birdbaths; I must buy one soon. The owners & staff are always very friendly & knowledgeable. They are enthusiastic to help find the right feeders & accessories for your needs. I highly recommend to join their club. I think it's $25 for a year. It gives great discounts on your purchases and you can receive $10 in birdbucks to spend in the store. Every month I spend at least $150, and I get $10 in birdbucks which I used the following month. Sure you can buy cheaper bags of birdseed from big chain discount stores, but those bags are full of extra fillers that aren't eaten. For quality mixes of birdseed that doesn't go to waste and for excellent customer service, Wild Birds Unlimited is the best choice. It is a local small business that deserves our support.
